About Urban Coders Guild
Urban Coders Guild is a Tulsa-based nonprofit that provides free, high-quality computer science education to Black, Latino, Indigenous, and female-identifying middle and high school students. We prepare youth for high-demand careers in technology, helping them build skills, confidence, and community—all at no cost to families.
Whether your child is a curious beginner or you’re an organization looking to support inclusive workforce development, Urban Coders Guild offers a clear path from exploration to employment.
Our Mission
To eliminate barriers to tech careers by providing underrepresented youth with the skills, mentorship, and industry access needed to thrive in today’s digital economy.
We’re here to make sure every student—regardless of background—has the opportunity to succeed in tech and transform their future.
Our Core Values
Equity – Centering students who have been historically excluded
Excellence – Delivering rigorous, industry-aligned, student-centered learning
Empowerment – Building confidence, resilience, and leadership
Community – Creating a culture of care, accountability, and growth
Innovation – Preparing students to lead in a changing world
Our Model: Explore. Equip. Empower.
We guide students through a year-round, three-phase program designed to meet them where they are—and grow with them:
– Explore – Students are introduced to coding, game design, and creative problem-solving through hands-on projects and collaborative learning.
– Equip – Students dive deeper into high-demand fields like cybersecurity, mobile app development, and data science. They prepare for industry-recognized certifications and career-ready skills.
– Empower – Students become leaders and innovators. Through mentorship, internships, teaching assistant roles, and capstone projects, they gain real-world experience and build confidence to pursue careers, college, or certification programs.
Programs include meals, transportation support, laptops, and certification exam fees—all at no cost to families.
