Urban Coders Guild is dedicated to providing free, high-quality computer science education to Black, Latino, Indigenous, and female-identifying youth in Tulsa. Our programs are designed to bridge the opportunity gap in technology by equipping students with the skills, confidence, and connections needed to succeed in high-demand tech careers.
Our Program Framework: Explore, Equip, Empower
Our programs are structured around a comprehensive framework that guides students from initial exposure to advanced proficiency:
Explore: Introduces students to foundational computer science concepts through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Equip: Provides specialized training in high-demand tech skills, preparing students for industry-recognized certifications and real-world applications.
Empower: Offers mentorship, leadership development, and career support to ensure students are prepared to enter and thrive in the tech workforce.
Program Pathways
We offer three distinct program pathways to cater to varying levels of experience and interest:
Apprentice Program: Designed for beginners, this program introduces middle and high school students to coding, web development, and game design through project-based learning.
Journeyman Program: For students with foundational knowledge, this program focuses on advanced topics such as cybersecurity, mobile app development, and data science, aligning with industry standards and workforce needs.
Craftsman Program: Tailored for advanced learners, this program offers opportunities for specialization, mentorship roles, and leadership development, preparing students for direct entry into tech careers or further education.
